KINCLUTCH Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026.
1. Who we are and what this covers
KINCLUTCH is an iPhone app published by Popquarry Productions Limited Liability Company, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States. This policy covers the app and this website. It does not cover any retailer or other site you reach by following a link.
KINCLUTCH is offered in the United States only.
2. Information about other people
KINCLUTCH is unusual: most of what it holds is about someone other than you. You record details about the people you give gifts to, and those people are not our users and have not signed up.
- You decide what to record. By recording it, you confirm you are entitled to share it with us for the purpose of choosing a gift.
- Most of it stays on your iPhone. It leaves the device only for a feature you deliberately start, listed in section 5.
- We do not contact the people in your profiles, sell information about them, or use it to advertise to them.
- If you are one of those people and you want to know what is held about you, or want it deleted, email support@kinclutch.com. We will ask for enough detail to find the record and to be satisfied you are who you say you are. Because these records live in another person's account, we will tell you what we can and will act on a deletion request.
3. What we collect, and how
| Source | What |
|---|---|
| Signing in | You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us an identifier for your Apple account that is unique to KINCLUTCH. We do not ask Apple for your name or your email address, and we do not hold either unless you write to us. |
| What you type | The people you add, their interests, sizes, dislikes, practical constraints including any allergies you choose to record, wish lists, budgets, occasions and the gifts you have given. |
| What a recipient or guardian sends | Answers to a private questionnaire you chose to send, submitted through an expiring link. Answering is voluntary. |
| What the app records itself | Basic technical and diagnostic information needed to run and fix the app, and any problem report you send us. |
| What Apple tells us | That a subscription or credit purchase happened, and its status. Apple does not give us your payment card details. |
| Email you send to support | Your email address and what you wrote. It arrives in a mailbox that Google hosts for us. So that we can answer, a working copy of the conversation is also kept, encrypted, on our own service, and is removed by itself 90 days after the conversation is finished. The email itself stays in the mailbox until we delete it, which you can ask us to do. If you ask one plain, common question, the first reply may be sent automatically from answers we wrote in advance: it says so, and a reply to it reaches a person. The wording of a plain question may be kept on its own, apart from your email address and the rest of your message, so that the same question is recognised next time. When our own rules cannot tell what a support email is asking, the subject and text of that email, without the address it came from, may be sent to Anthropic, one of the artificial-intelligence providers named in section 5, to work out which of our prepared answers fits or to draft a reply. A drafted reply is read by a person before it is sent. Support email is not sent to OpenAI. |
4. What we use it for
We use the information above only to: run your account; research and present gift options; send and receive the questionnaires you choose to send; keep the state of a gift you are working on; remember what you have already given so we do not suggest it again; answer your problem reports and your email to support; and record your purchases. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone other than you.
5. Who else sees it
We share only what a feature needs, and only with these categories of provider:
- Artificial-intelligence providers: Anthropic and OpenAI. When you start a gift search, we send the recipient’s age, your relationship, the profile details you entered and your brief to these providers so they can propose and review options. The name you saved for them, their phone number, email and street address are not sent; what you type into the profile and the brief is sent as you typed it. Answers a recipient or guardian gave to a questionnaire become part of the profile and are sent in the same way. This is information about another person. Our agreements with these providers do not permit them to use it to train their models. Before your first gift search the app names these providers and asks your permission; if you do not give it, nothing is sent.
- Scrapingdog, a merchant-page provider. To find real products we search Amazon through it, and it fetches the product pages so we can check a price and whether an item is in stock. It receives the search phrases. These are made from the interests and wishes you recorded for the recipient, in your own words, so a wish for a medical or other personal item is searched as you wrote it, and from the names of products the AI suggests, which are searched to find the page to check. It does not receive your account, any identifier, or the name you saved for the recipient. If you typed the recipient’s full name inside an interest or a wish, we remove it before searching, however it is spelled; one word of a name on its own (a first name, or a name that is a single word) is searched as typed, because it cannot be told from a product word.
- Hosting providers, which run the service, and Google, which hosts our support mailbox. A questionnaire link is sent from your own Mail or Messages app; we do not send email on your behalf.
- Apple, which handles purchases and tells us their status.
Any third party that receives information through the app is required to provide the same or equal protection for it as this policy states. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell information about the people in your profiles.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
6. Buying the gift
We are not a shop. When you choose an option, KINCLUTCH opens the retailer's own page and you buy there. We are not the seller, we are not a party to that purchase, and we never take payment for a gift or see your card details. From the moment you leave the app, that retailer's own privacy policy governs. If we ever earn a commission from a retailer link, we will say so here.
7. Children
KINCLUTCH is for adults. You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
You may record a child as a gift recipient, because people give gifts to children. If you send a questionnaire about a recipient under 13, the app requires it to be addressed to a parent or guardian, or answered together in person. It cannot be sent to the child to answer alone. That is enforced by the app, not merely requested.
We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. A parent or guardian who believes we hold information from their child may email support@kinclutch.com to review or delete it.
8. Age signals from the App Store
KINCLUTCH does not currently receive or use an age category from the App Store. If that changes, this policy will say so before it does.
9. How long we keep it, and how to delete it
Information you keep on your device stays there until you delete it or remove the app. A questionnaire link expires 72 hours after you create it, after which it stops working. Information we hold on our servers is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and problem reports are kept while the issue is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
You can delete your account from inside the app, which deletes the information we hold for it. One thing remains: a short scrambled marker that cannot be turned back into your identity. It exists only so that a deleted account cannot claim the free welcome search or an invitation reward a second time, and so that a code already used stays used. You can also email support@kinclutch.com to ask us to delete it, or to withdraw a permission you previously gave, including permission to send recipient details to an AI provider. Withdrawing that permission means gift search stops working.
10. Your choices
You can turn off notifications in iOS Settings, and decline the Contacts and Calendar permissions the app asks for, which stops those sources being read. To review or correct what we hold, email support@kinclutch.com. We do not send marketing email.
11. Do Not Track, and tracking across other sites
We do not track you across other companies' websites or apps, and we do not allow anyone else to do so through KINCLUTCH. Because we do not do this at all, a browser "Do Not Track" signal makes no difference to how we behave; there is nothing for it to switch off.
12. California residents
Two California laws apply to us today whatever our size, and we follow both.
- The California Online Privacy Protection Act. This policy states the categories of information we collect and the categories of parties we share it with (sections 3 and 5), how to review and correct your information (section 10), how we tell you about material changes (section 15), its effective date (at the top), how we respond to Do Not Track signals and whether anyone tracks you across other sites (section 11).
- The California Automatic Renewal Law. KINCLUTCH does not currently sell a subscription. If we offer one, its price, period and automatic renewal are disclosed before you buy, cancellation is available in the same place you subscribed, and we give advance notice before any price or term change. The detail is in the terms of use.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not sell or share information about the people in your profiles. We never have.
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email support@kinclutch.com. We will verify you are who you say you are before we act, and we will respond promptly and in any case within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking. These rights are open to everyone who uses KINCLUTCH, not only California residents, which is why they also appear in sections 2, 9 and 10.
To be straightforward about the law: the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses above set thresholds — broadly, more than twenty-six million dollars of annual revenue, or the personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers a year, or half of revenue from selling personal information. We are below all three and are not currently a covered business under that Act. We give the rights above anyway. If we ever cross a threshold, we will comply with the Act in full and update this policy before we do.
13. Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is restricted to people who need it, and credentials are held encrypted rather than in plain text. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not.
14. Subscriptions and credits
Billing, renewal and cancellation are handled by Apple through your App Store account. The full terms are in the terms of use.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will post the updated policy here with a new effective date and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app before it takes effect. The effective date at the top always shows the current version.
