Joe's Test Kitchen Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Joe's Test Kitchen is a cookbook and a cooking app published by Popquarry Productions Limited Liability Company, a Wyoming limited liability company at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States.
This policy covers the Joe's Test Kitchen app for iPhone and iPad, the website at joestestkitchen.com, and this page. It does not cover any other site you reach by following a link from either.
Joe's Test Kitchen is offered in the United States only.
2. What we collect, and how
Most of what the app holds never leaves your device. The table says where each thing lives.
| What | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Your cooking notes, checkmarks and reading position | On your device only |
| Your shopping and dinner-plan lists | On your device only |
| Your Fridge Raid ingredient selections | On your device only |
| Timers and the reminders they raise | On your device only |
| Cooking photos you take or choose | On your device, unless you share one (section 3) |
| Your membership account identifier | On our own server |
| Posts, replies and photos you publish to the community | On our own server, and visible to others (section 4) |
| Subscription status | Held by Apple; we see whether it is active |
| An email address, if you ask for the Field Repairs Card | On our own server (section 7) |
We do not use advertising networks, analytics services, or third-party tracking software in the app. There is no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track you with.
The app does not ask for your contacts and does not ask for your location.
3. Your cooking photos
The app can attach photos to a recipe so you have a record of how it turned out. When you add a photo, iOS asks your permission and you pick the specific photos you want. We do not receive your photo library.
- Photos you add stay private on your device by default. They are yours, and nobody else can see them.
- A photo leaves your device only when you deliberately attach it to a community post. That is a separate, explicit step.
- Deleting a photo in the app removes it from the app. If you already published it to the community, delete the post as well, or ask us to.
4. The community, and what other people see
The app has a community where people share how a recipe went. It is optional. You can use the whole cookbook without ever posting.
- Anything you post is visible to other people using the app. Treat a post like something published, not like a private note.
- Posts and replies are searchable by other users, including by recipe, keyword and category.
- Do not put your home address, phone number, or anything else you would not say in public into a post or a photo.
- We can remove content that breaks the rules in the terms of use, and we can suspend an account that keeps breaking them.
- To report a post, a reply or a photo, use the report control in the app or email support@popquarry.com. We aim to look at every report within 24 hours.
5. What we use it for
- To run the app: showing your recipes, notes, lists and photos back to you.
- To operate the community: publishing what you chose to publish, and moderating it.
- To confirm whether your membership is active.
- To answer you when you contact support.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate abuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
6. Who else sees it
- Other users, for anything you publish to the community, and only that.
- Apple, which processes any purchase or subscription. We never see your card details. Apple's handling of that payment is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the membership and community features use, and can technically access what is stored there in order to operate it.
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as in response to a lawful request, or to protect someone's safety.
Nobody else. There is no data broker, no advertising network and no analytics vendor in this list because there is none in the product.
7. The website and the Field Repairs Card
At joestestkitchen.com you can read six of the ninety-nine recipes without giving an email address or creating anything.
If you ask for the Field Repairs Card, you give an email address and we send it to you. We use that address to send you the card and occasional messages about Joe's Test Kitchen. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We do not sell or rent that list.
If you buy the cookbook, the payment is handled by the store or payment processor shown at checkout under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card number.
8. Children
Joe's Test Kitchen is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@popquarry.com and we will delete it.
Cooking involves heat, sharp tools and equipment that can injure. Children should cook only with an adult supervising.
9. Age signals from the App Store
Where Apple provides an age range or age-assurance signal for an account, we may use it to decide whether to show community features. We use such a signal only for that purpose and do not keep it beyond the decision.
10. How long we keep it, and how to delete it
- On your device: your notes, lists and private photos stay until you delete them or delete the app. Deleting the app removes them, and we cannot recover them, because we never had a copy.
- Community content: kept until you delete the post, or until we remove it.
- Membership account: kept while the account exists.
- Email list: kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
To delete your account and everything we hold on our server, email support@popquarry.com from the address associated with it, or use the delete control in the app where one is provided. We will confirm when it is done.
There is no server backup of your personal notes. The app deliberately keeps them on your device and does not archive them for you. Losing or wiping the device loses them. You can export your own notes to a PDF at any time and keep that copy yourself.
11. Your choices
- Do not post to the community, and nothing of yours is published.
- Refuse the photo permission, and the app still works without photos.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings, and timers still run while the app is open.
- Unsubscribe from email at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
12. Do Not Track, and tracking across other sites
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We honour it by not doing it in the first place.
13. California residents
If you live in California you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, request deletion, request correction, and ask us to stop selling or sharing it. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Email support@popquarry.com.
14. Security
Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. Access to the server is limited to the people who operate it. No system is perfect, and we do not promise that one is. If we discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell you and any regulator we are required to tell.
15. Subscriptions
If Joe's Test Kitchen offers a paid membership, the purchase is made through your Apple Account. Apple takes the payment and tells us whether the membership is active. We do not see your card number, and we cannot charge you ourselves. Cancelling is done in your Apple Account settings, and is described in the terms of use.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will change the effective date at the top. If the change materially reduces your privacy, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
